REMEMBERING THE FALLEN OF WW1

Born in Cardiff, Wales in 1897.

His parents were Sidney Williams(1866-1937) and

Fanny Lawrence(1867-1960). They were married in 1895.

Lawrence had 1 brother ,Edgar(08/03/1901-1974) and a sister,Annetta Veronica(26/02/1908-2006).

In the 1901(Welsh)census,the family were living at

68 Clifton Street, Roath,Cardiff. Sidney was employed as a railway porter.

In the 1911(Welsh)census,the family were still living at the same address.Sidney was a goods railway foreman. Lawrence whilst still at school was also a butchers errand boy.

He enlisted in Cardiff and his date of disembarkation into France was on 14/09/1915.

He was killed in action on 01/07/1916.

He was awarded the 1914-1915 Star,the 1914-1918 British War and Allied Victory medals.
