Born on 28/09/1894 in Manor Park Essex.

He was baptised on 25/11/1894.

His parents were John Henry Dearsley(1870-18/11/1936) and Annie Rosina Philips(27/06/1871-1958).

They were married in 1893.

Henry had a brother and a sister;

Sidney Frederick(01/09/1901-1965) and

Winifred Alice Rose(01/03/1899-1981).

In the 1901 census the family were recorded as living at

7 Southborough Road East Ham London. John was employed as a railway signalman.

In the 1911 census,the family were now shown to be living at

14 Third Avenue Manor Park London, John was still a signalman on the railway,whilst Henry was a typist in a tea brokers.

He enlisted in London and his date of disembarkation into France was on 27/07/1915.

He was killed in action on 01/07/1916.

He was awarded the 1914-1915 Star,

the 1914-1918 British War and Allied Victory medals.
