Born in Branden Suffolk in 1892.
His parents were Robert Field(1865-1915) and Esther Emma Powell(1870-1956). They were married in 1892.
Arthur had 4 brothers;
Herbert Franklin(18/08/1896-1985),
Charles Euston(06/12/1898-1970),
Eric George(19/02/1903-1982) and
Philip Russell(05/08/1908-1973).
He also had 2 sisters;
Phyllis Kathleen( 13/05/1894-1985) and
Gwendoline Madge(04/01/1907-2000).
In the 1901 census, the family were recorded as living at 63 Thetford Road, Brandon ,Suffolk. Robert Field was employed as a gun flint maker.
The 1911 census shows that Arthur was now living with his grandmother at the
Coach & Horses Inn, Thetford Road, Brandon , Suffolk.
He was employed as a grocers shop assistant.
He enlisted in Richmond Surrey and his date of disembarkation into France was 27/07/1915.
He was killed in action on 01/07/1916.
He was awarded the 1914-1915 Star ,.
