Born in Axminster ,Devon  in 1883.

His parents were Samuel Enticott(1857-1926) and Anna-Maria Board(1859-1916). They married in 1882.

Samuel had 4 brothers; Frederick William(1891-1966),

Charles Francis(born in 1892),

Bertram Leonard(29/09/1893-09/03/1960) and

Percy Reginald(25/09/1905-1973).

He also had 7 sisters;

Eva Minnie(born in 1884),

Victoria Laura(29/08/1887-1973),

Daisy Annie(27/01/1889-1987),

Kathleen Alice(18/02/1896-1964),

Emily Elizabeth(born in 1898),

Winifred May(20/07/1900-1980) and

Elsie Alexandra(03/08/1901-1975).  

In the 1891 census the family were living at

the small shop on Castle Hill in Axminster ,Devon.  Samuel Senior was working as a fruiter  and greengrocer.

The next time that Samuel junior can be found in the census' is in 1911. He was recorded as living at

602 Woolwich Road,New Charlton,Kent.He was employed as a bar man. 

He enlisted in London and was killed in action on 01/07/1916.

He was awarded the 1914-1918 British War and Allied Victory medals.

His brother Bertram served as 44185 Private with 2nd Devonshire Regiment from 13/01/1916 until 03/09/1919.
