Born in 1895 in Ottery St Mary,Devon.
His parents were Albion Connett(1867-1942) and Elizabeth Lane(1869-1946).They were married in 1892.
George had 4 brothers; Henry(born in 1893),
William Edward(born in 1903),John(born in 1905) and Louis James(24/07/1907-14/05/1992). He also had a sister Elsie(born in 1898).
In the 1901 census,the family were recorded as living at Fenny Bridges,Ottery St Mary Devon.
Georges father was employed as a railway plate layer.
George was killed in action on 01/07/1916.
He was awarded the 1914-1918 British War and the
Allied Victory medals.
