Born in Willand, Devon in 1892.
His parents were William Dunn(1861-1933) and
Ellen Coles(1861-1946). They were married in 1881.
Harry had 6 brothers; Frank (born in 1881),
George William(1883-1969),
Tom(born in 1889),Sidney(24/12/1890-1972),
Robert(born in 1897) and Reginald(19/01/1901-1988).
He also had 3 sisters; Ellen Elizabeth(born in 1885),Florence(born in 1896) and
Beatrice Annie(11/02/1898-1972).
In the 1911 census Harry was recorded as living and working as a farm servant at Corwents Farm, Sampford,Arundel,Wellington,Somerset.
He enlisted in Clumstock Devon and his date of disembarkation into France was on 21/12/1915.
He was killed in action on 01/07/1916.
He was awarded the 1914-1915 Star,
the 1914-1918 British War and Allied Victory medals.
