Born in 1887 in Paignton,Devon.
His parents were John Partridge(1852-03/04/1913) and Avis Waldron(1858-1915). They were married in 1881.
John had 1 brother; Robert Waldron(1890-1945) and he also had 6 sisters; Elizabeth Ann(1882-1912),
Alice Jane(1883-07/11/1962),Susanna Caroline
(1886-1960),Rose Mary(26/01/1892-1979),Avis Annie
(1895-1967),Margaret Helena(1897).
In the 1891 census the family were recorded as living at 4 Primley Hill,Paignton,Devon. Johns father was employed as a gas stoker.
In the 1901 census,John had left the family home and was now living on Lower Yabberton Farm ,Paignton Devon and employed as a boy on farm.
In 1910 John married Rosy Piper(1884-1973) and in the 1911 census they were recorded as living at
64 Merritt Flats,Paignton,Devon.John was employed as a general labourer.
John enlisted in Exeter and his date of disembarkation into France was on 09/12/1915.
He was killed in action on 01/07/1916.
He was awarded the 1914-1915 Star,the British War 1914-1918 and the Allied Victory medals.
