Born in Penance Cornwall in 1895.
His parents were William Charles Trewern(1862-1924) and Annie Josephine Jane Keen(born in 1863). They married on 22/08/1885.
This was Williams second marriage following the death of his first wife Josepha Rogers(1861-1884) whom he had married in 1881 and had had two children with;William Charles
(born in 1882) and Clara(born in 1883).
James also had 3 brothers ;John James(1886-1886),
Norman John(born in 1899) and Edward Aaron(1901-1963) and 8 sisters;Annie Jane(born in1887),Elsie Mary(born in 1889),May(born in 1891),Gertrude(born in 1891),
Alice Maud(1893-1895),Hilda Irene(born in 1897),
Alice Phoebe Maud(born in 1903) and
Levonia Alexandra(1907-1994) from Williams marriage to Annie.
In the 1901 census the family were recorded as living at
2 Summercourt, New Street Penzance.Jame's father was employed as a masons labourer.
In the 1911 census James had started working as a page boy at a hotel, whilst his father was a labourer on the quayside.
The family were now living at 19 New Street, Penzance.
James enlisted in Lynton Devon and his date of disembarkation into France was on 09/12/1915.
He was killed in action on 01/07/1916.
He was awarded the 1914-1915 Star,The British War 1914-1918 and the Allied Victory medals.
