Born in Simonsbath Devon in 1897.
His parents were Charles Grant(born in 1864) and
Eliza Blackmore(born in 1867). They were married in 1887.
He had 2 brothers John(born in 1889)and Fredrick
(born in 1904). He also had a sister,Mabel(born in 1893).
In the 1901 census the family were recorded as living at Cloven Rocks Cottage,Simonsbath,Exmoor,
South Molton,Devon.
Albert's father was employed as a road contractor.
The same information was also recorded about the family in the 1911 census.
Albert enlisted in Exeter.
He was killed in action on 01/07/1916.
At the time of his death,the family were living at
13 Springfield Road Exeter.
He was awarded the British war 1914-1918 & Allied Victory Medals.
