Born in Oakford,Devon in 1890.
His parents were Robert Carpenter(1856-1910) and
Sarah Greedy(1860-1925). They were married in 1884.
He had 3 brothers;Arthur Charles(1885-1897),
Robert(born in 1888) and Fred(born in 1895).
He also had a sister Mary Ann(1892-1901).
In the 1891 census the family were living at Highway Cottages Oakford Devon and Albert's father was employed as a carpenter.
In the 1901 census everything was pretty much the same as ten years earlier,still living at the same address and his father was still employed as a carpenter.
By 1911 Albert had moved out of the family home and was lodging at Yeadbury Farm,Cruwys Morchard, Tiverton,where he also worked as a carter.
He enlisted in Tiverton Devon,but there is no date of his disembarkation into France.
He was killed in action on 01/07/1916.
He was awarded 2 medals;The British War Medal 1914-1918 & the Allied Victory Medal.
