REMEMBERING THE FALLEN OF WW1

Born in 1896 in Exeter.

His parents were Hubert John Reed(1871-1932) and

Ada Colleypriest(1873-1929).

They were married on 05/07/1895.

Albert had 3 brothers;

Frederick-Hubert(15/07/1900-19/09/1915),

William Henry(born on 18/08/1903) and

Harold Francis(born on 12/06/1906).

He also had 4 sisters; Isabel Dora(born on 12/06/1906),

Ellen Edith Lilian(born on 14/02/1912),

Lesley Serge(born on 01/10/1913) and

Olwen Ada France(born on 10/08/1915).

In the 1901 census,  the family were recorded as living at

4 Wesleyan Court, Sidwell Street Exeter. Albert's father was employed as a masons labourer.

By the time of the 1911 census,the family had moved to

Spring Gardens Cottages,Haven Banks Cottage,

Alphington, Devon.

Albert had started work as a grocers errand boy whilst his father was now  a general farm labourer.

He enlisted in Exeter and was killed in action on 01/07/1916.

He was awarded the British War 1914 -1918 and

the Allied Victory medals.
