I have been unable to find out much about Charles' life,other than what appears on his remaining military documents.
He was born in London and his mother was called Mary Ann.
He enlisted in London and the date of his disembarkation into France was on 11/10/1915.
He was killed in action on 01/07/1916.
He was awarded the 1914-1915 star,
the 1914-1918 British war and Allied Victory medals.
A pension of 4/- a week from 06/03/1917 to 05/03/1918 was awarded to his mother. Her address at this time was
6 Mays Cottages, Eastfield Street,Stepney, London.
