Born in Plymouth,Devon in 1886.
His parents were Edward John Brown(born in 1860) and Jessie Warden(27/04/1860-1942). They married in 1879.
He had 3 brothers; Edward John(born in 1882),
William A (born in 1888) and James B(23/08/1896-1967).
He also had 6 sisters; Jessie(born in 1884),
Beatrice Alice(born in 1886),Elsie(born in 1890),
Lilian F(born in 1890),Hilda(born in 1894) and
Winifred M(born in 1895).
In the 1891 census the family were recorded as living at
14 Stoke Road Plymouth,Devon. Edward was working as a french polisher.
The 1901 census sees the family at the same address and also Edward still working as a french polisher and now training Harry to become one too.
In 1906 Harry married Eugenie Lucy Helstone(1884-1911).
They had no children and in the early part of 1911 Eugenie had passed away.
In the 1911 census widower Harry was still living at the same address,not with his parents as they had moved to another address,but he was boarding with his mother in law. He was working as a cabinet maker and french polisher.
He enlisted in Plymouth and his date of disembarkation into France was on 29/07/1915.
He was killed in action on 01/07/1916.
He was awarded the 1914-1915 Star,the 1914-1918 British War and Allied Victory medals.
