Born in Islington Middlesex on 17/03/1891.
His parents were James Elliot(born in 1843) and
Mary Ann Marner(1855-1898). They were married in 1880.
Arthur had 2 brothers,Frederick George M(1881-1967) and
Harry Shipley(1895-19/05/1957). He also had a sister,
Mary Louise(born in 1884).
In the 1891 census,the family were recorded as living at
41 Almorah Road Canonbury, Islington, North London.
His father James was employed as a printers reader.
In the 1911 census,the family were still living at the same address.James was now employed as a compositor for an
evening paper.Arthur was employed as a silk warehouseman.
On 02/08/1915,he married Edith Churchill Hobson
(1891-04/08/1960).
He enlisted in Highbury,Middlesex and was killed in action on 02/10/1917
