         14850 Corporal Frederick Chapman Todd
              7th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment

Born on 05/03/1893 in Gosberton Lincolnshire, he was baptised on 1703/1904. His parents were

Thomas William Todd (1854-1929) and Mary Ann Benton (21/01/1850-1940). They were married in 1882.

Frederick had 1 brother, Edwin (01/05/1887-1961) and 2 sisters, Sarah Ann (16/12/1881-1955) and

Mary Beatrice (13/10/1890-1947)

In the 1901 census the family were recorded as living at Cheal, Gosberton, Spalding Lincolnshire. Thomas was employed as a farmer.

In the 1911 census the family had moved to Tongue End, Spalding. Both Frederick and his father were employed as farm labourers.

Frederick enlisted in Spalding and was sent to France on 28/07/1915. He was killed in action on 19/12/1915.

He was awarded the 1914-1915 Star, the 1914-1918 British War and Allied Victory medals.

Frederick was originally buried in the Menin Road North Cemetery, but on 08/08/1919 his erected cross( his remains were not found) 

was moved to Menin Road South Cemetery.
