Born in Church Minshall, Middlewich, Cheshire in 1894. He lived with his grandparents John & Jane Brooks and like his Grandfather was a farm labourer.
He enlisted into the 18th Labour Company,
The Queens (Royal West Surrey Regiment) at Crewe, before transferring to the (75273) 126th Labour Corps.. He was killed in action. *
