Born in Seapatrick County Down in 1892.
His father was Samuel Barnett(born in 1851),
a Yarn Bundler and his mother was Sarah Anne
(nee Hamilton(married 1887)),who was born in 1853.
He had a sister,Sara Elizabeth(born in 1891).
In the Irish census,recorded on 31-03-1901,they are recorded as living in Tullyear, Banbridge, County Down.
Robert was employed as a Damask Weaver.
In 1906 he married Mary Ellen McMillan (born in 1889) and they had 2 children,Samuel(born in 1908) and Sarah (born in 1910).
In the Irish census recorded on 02-04-1911,they are recorded as living at Factory View Banbridge,Urban County Down. Robert was still employed as a Damask Weaver.
He enlisted in Banbridge County Down and his dis-embarkation into France was on 16-12-1915.
He was killed in action on 07-06-1917.
In his will dated 01-01-1916 he left all his property and effects to his wife.
At the time of his death,the family were recorded as living at 3 Prospect Terrace Banbridge County Down.
