in 1895.
On 02-04-1911,he is recorded in the Irish census as living with his father,Henry Rooney,a farmer,his mother,Margaret(nee Quinn(married 1867)) along with his 3 brothers ,Thomas,William and Charles and also his 4 sisters,Eva,Annie,Jane and Edith
at Aughnahoory,Kilkeel,Co.Down.
He enlisted in Belfast and his dis-embarkation into France was on 04-10-1915.
He was killed in action on 07-06-1917.
