Born in Belfast in 1875.

In the Irish census completed on 31-03-1901,

he is recorded as boarding at a house in

Woodstock place,Belfast ,

whilst being employed as a general labourer.

In the Irish census completed on 02-04-1911,he is recorded as boarding at 20 Dunvegan Street,Belfast ,whilst being employed as a carter.

He enlisted in Belfast and his dis-embarkation into France was on 15-06-1915.

He was killed in action on 07-06-1917.

In his will he left effects of £11 5s 9d

(worth today £885.86) to William G Stewart,

a sub post master.
