Born in Norwich in 1897.
His parents were George Aggas(born in 1868),a brick layers labourer and Marion Elizabeth Matthew(1872-1935),
who married George in 1892.
He had 3 brothers,George Frederick(1902-1969),
James William(1907-1964) and
Frederick Sidney(1910-1912).
He also had 4 sisters,Alice Maud(born in 1895),
Hilda Elizabeth(born in 1899),Ivy Beatrice(born in 1904)
and Edith Kate(born in 1906).
In the 1901 census,the family was recorded as living at
151 Annes Street Norwich and by the 1911 census they had moved to 2 Church Close,Northumberland Street Norwich.
In 1916 Robert married Phoebe Fox(05-11-1895 - 1975) and they had a daughter they named Maud Hilda(1916-1993).
He enlisted in Norwich as Private (7413(40738)) in the
9th Battalion Norfolk Regiment.
He was later transferred as Rifleman (41394) into the
9th Battalion Royal Irish Rifles.
He was killed in action on 07-06-1917.
