Born in Battersea in 1875.He was baptised on 09-01-1876.
In the 1891 census he is recorded as living with his widowed mother,Emily Sarah(nee Edwards(married 1872),
a seamstress at 48 Bayonne Street,Fulham.
Aged 15 in 1901,he was employed as a telegraph messenger.
His father William Edwards,a stone mason, died on 17-06-1877.His mother died in 1896.
In 1899 he married Jessie Isabella Hall(she died in 06/1953).
They had 4 sons; William Ernest(he died 06/1965),Thomas Frank(he died 06/1972),Walter Hall(he died 09/1989) and Frederick John(he died 01/1990).
In the 1911 census,William was working as a fitters labourer and they lived at 25 Holyport Flats,Fulham.
He enlisted in Fulham and was killed in action on 07-06-1917.
