Born in London in 1884.
His father was James Baker,a boot maker.
On 25-01-1914 he married
Rose Elizabeth Pinckney(1888-1976).
On his marriage certificate he was recorded as living at
78 Whiston Street(Road),Bethnal Green and being
employed as an embosser.
He enlisted in Bethnal Green into the 17th Battalion London Regiment as a Private(7112).
He was later transferred as a Rifleman(43543) into
9th Battalion Royal Irish Rifles.
He was killed in action on 07-06-1917.
At the time of his death,they were recorded as living at 84,Wellington Row,Bethnal Green.
His widow Rose later re-married in 1920 to Harry Clarke
