   Lieutenant Cedric John Plunkett

 123rd Brigade Royal Field Artillery

              6th August 1917

Born at Chateau Yonvente in Pleurtuit,France in 1898.

His father was Cedric John Charles Plunkett(he died 26-01-1898) who married his mother,Alice Cupiss

(she died 12/1925) in 1881.

He had two sisters,Gladys May(she died 27-09-1959)

and Mabel Cecilia.

In the 1911 census,he was recorded as being a railway clerk and living at 20 Digby Mansions,Hammersmith,London. 

He enlisted as (2360) Gunner in the Royal Field Artillery(Territorial Force),before being commissioned

2nd Lieutenant  on 21-11-1915 in the Royal Field Artillery.

He was later promoted to Lieutenant.

His dis-embarkation into France was on 17-03-1915.

He was killed in action on 06-08-1917.

In his will his address was given as 4 Brandon Mansions,Queens Club Gardens,Middlesex and effects of

£64 19s(worth today £5097.35) were left to his mother,

who was now living at 7 Southwood Court,

Hampstead Garden Suburb NW11.
